Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is basically arthritis in kids. It leads to their joints swelling incredibly painfully, which also means they can miss out school and other activities. Martha, my daughter, was diagnosed when she was 9 and CCAA made a huge difference to her - through grants to enable her to undertake activity classes and through an amazing activity weekend where she could meet other kids with arthritis.
CCAA is volunteer led and run by people who have been affected by JIA and are passionate about supporting others. It has no statutory funding and has to fundraise every penny it spends. Donations fund all its projects and events across the country and all the family support services it operates. Without donations it simply can't continue to support families and kids that need help.
So I'm going to try to run a marathon, which isn't going to be easy for me. I'll be in pain, too, which is why I am not planning on ever doing this again. But that's OK. Because I know I'll be doing it to reduce the pain of others. Please give generously.
