Story
In past few years over 5 of my friends, including a family member, got diagnosed with some form of cancer. This year, sadly, one of my dear friends got bad news about cancer returning and the other one received confirmation of diagnosis.
Cavendish has been charity chosen by both of my friends Val and Helen but I know that it has supported many others, possibly some of you.
Val and Helen, are both supportive friends, precious family members, amazing work colleagues, and the most caring Health Care Professionals. They are beautiful human beings and they would go beyond the limits to help others.
My friends had to learn to live with cancer and endure its treatment's nasty side effects, some of those still present. I though that least I can do is to push myself to the limits of my ability in order to complete the challenge and raise funds for the chosen by them Cavendish Charity.
PEAK DISTRICT ULTRA SATURDAY 5.9.2020 CASTLETON
Here is the link to the map of the route (right click to open in new tab)
https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/map-80b618e--40
This will be a fell run, the distance of 50 kilometres route through Peak District. I set to complete the challenge within 12 hours, hoping to go below 10h.
This will be self mapped and self navigated route with no marshals, stations or other participants apart from few friends who will decide to chip in for a part(s). This means it will be harder mentally, physically and will take more time. I will set 2-3 check points throughout the route and my amazing husband with kids in a car will be my designated 'mobile' check point team waiting with snacks and water.
You can track me via GPS on the day from this website
https://map.racetracker.no/?race=dorota_palac_ultra
I will invite many of my friends to join me at the start or for a part (s) of the run.
Please donate and I will run the millage for your donation. For every donated £10 I will run 1K in training dedicated to you to show my appreciation.
Please donate! Every penny count especially in those difficult for charity times when all fund raising sport and social events has been cancelled.
