COVID-19 has been hard on everyone, especially those with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). 

In a recent Headway survey, 62% of respondents reported an increased fear for their future due to lockdown. This is a sharp rise from their 2017 survey, where only 28% of respondents were fearful of the future. 

I will run 62 miles in one month to raise funds for the 62% of people who have fear for their future. All proceeds will go to Headway West London, with the aim of supporting a beloved charity that restores hope to those with TBI. 

Living with a TBI can be extremely difficult. Headway West London provides information, services, and support to survivors of brain injury, their families, carers, and relevant professionals. Headway's efforts to improve post-injury outcomes can make lasting positive change on those in our communities living with TBI.

Running 62 miles in a month will be a challenge for me- I've acquired (or worsened) some knee and hip injuries throughout lockdown. But as summer approaches, and as the end of lockdown 3.0 is in sight, I have hope for the future. So I will push myself to complete this challenge, knowing it is for a cause that inspires hope in others. Additionally, I recently walked 20 miles with my friend, Hazel, in her walk to raise funds and awareness for Endometriosis UK. Her determination (she RAN 20 miles THEN walked 20!!) has inspired me to challenge myself for the sake of a cause I believe needs more attention and funding.
