Story

In the past I've run and raised money for Beat Bullying - a charity that was close to my heart having been a victim of it for many years growing up.

This time I'm raising money for the British Dyslexia Association - having grown up with dyslexia, I know the struggles that sufferers endure, but also found ways to make it work for me. My son is dyslexic, and I want him to grow up knowing it's only a disability if you choose to let it be.

I'm not entirely sure how that links to running, but if it links to you emptying your wallets into the donation box, then I'll call that a win!

Side note - I really don't like running. I like parkrun (it's social). I like posting about running (it's social). And I like raising money (this is where you come in). But I genuinely don't like running. I have ridiculously tight hamstrings, and anything over 10km gives me severe cramp in my legs. Doctors have done MRI scans of my legs and said "these are not meant for running" (true story).

All in all, choosing to run a marathon again after the previous ones hurt like hell really was a stupid idea. What the hell was I thinking? I mean, I could have done a cake sale or something. Although I don't actually like baking cakes. I'm really not very good at this.

Too late now I guess.

Here comes the science bit:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Ask your doctor if this is right for you. Side effects include discharge from every orifice randomly, and occasional death or other more fatal complications.
