Charity Walk for Peace 2018 · 29 April 2018 to 31 December 2018 ·
Runnymede Rentstart helps people on low or no income who are homeless and need support to rent privately. The people that it helps have fallen through the safety net - the council does not have a statutory duty to house them, because they are not classified as having priority need, but they are often very needy.
The money that we raise will be used to help financially at the beginning of a tenancy by providing a deposit bond and by contributing towards the first month's rent. Runnymede Rentstart also offers practical support throughout tenancies.
Runnymede Rentstart is part of Runnymede and Spelthorne Citizens Advice, itself a registered charity. I learnt about Runnymede Rentstart through volunteering with Citizens Advice.
Any money raised by our walk will be matched pound for pound by Charity Walk for Peace, which is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association. A huge thank you to them for this.
