Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is easy, relatively fast and completely secure.  Once you donate, your money goes directly to the charity. Make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, as no one likes paying tax!  I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Wooden Spoon - Background

Wooden Spoon is Strutt & Parker’s charity for 2011.  It is a children’s charity dedicated to helping underprivileged, socially and mentally challenged children and young adults across the UK.  The charity uses the spirit and values of rugby to give these children and young people a chance to achieve their full potential in life.

The Challenge

Each of our 42 Strutt & Parker offices have one week to raise as much money as possible for Wooden Spoon.  I work in the Norwich office and at the end of our week, I will be cycling solo for approximately 130 miles from Norwich to Market Harborough, to hand over the challenge.  I will be cycling on my own throughout but supported by two colleagues, Jason Cantrill and Jo Kemp who will be driving my car and meeting me at 3 scheduled checkpoints.

I will leave Norwich at 04:00 on Friday 11th March and aim to arrive at our market Harborough office.  Including scheduled stops I hope to cover the distance, which is longer than the cycle element in an iron-man in 7 hours.

Please sponsor this worthy cause.

Yours, Russ
