My lovely Dad died on 4th March this year. He was lucky to reach the age of 90. He was fit and healthy most of his life but he struggled bravely for the last 30 years or more with chronic chest infections which became more frequent and severe.

Although he was given antibiotics which no doubt saved his life on many occasions it was not until a year before he died that he was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. This is a lung condition which causes widening of the bronchial tubes which then become blocked with thick catarrh. This results in shortness of breath and a debilitating cough.

It is possible that working with chemicals in factories could have caused Dad's condition but there needs to be more research into the causes and best ways of treating the disease. Some people's lives are blighted by this terrible condition at a much younger age than Dad was.

Please help me to raise funds for this new charity set up by patients to support others and instigate research.
