Thank you so much for visiting my just giving page.
As some of you know, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and with the support of the amazing doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden, she courageously fought it and was given the all clear some time ago but is still under their care.
Sadly more and more of us know somebody who is fighting cancer, my Aunt for one battled the disease a few years prior to my mum.
Although breast cancer is most commonly detected in women it is sometimes found in men as well. There are about 390 men diagnosed each year in the UK compared to 54,800 women.
With better awareness, screening and treatments more people than ever are surviving cancer. These statistics along with my mum's positivity, strength and fight has inspired me to give something back by running my first ever marathon in Brighton on Sunday the 19th of April and to raise as much and I can for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Marsden helps people with every type of cancer every single day.
For those of you that know me, I'm no runner so this is a real challenge for me. Aswell as not drinking from early January until April (the much bigger challenge!)
Please donate as little or as much as you can to support this amazing charity and also to motivate me on the long and lonely training runs in preparation for the 26 miles around Brighton!
I really do appreciate everyone's support. Feel free to join me for a beer on Brighton beach after the race!
