Story

We did it!

Thanks so much to all that have sponsored us so far!  You've helped us to get over 4/5's of the way to raising the target we set of £1,000, let's hope we can go well beyond that!  It's not too late to sponsor us!

We both completed the sky dive near Brigg which is near Hull on the 18th September 2010! Neither of us had ever done any thing like this before but it was a great experience! Very scary though. We flew up to 15000 ft which is almost 3 miles and then jumped! We each did a free fall for nearly 2 miles and at 6000ft the parachutes opened (luckily)!! and we landed safely.

The sky-dive was part of the Great BT Jump, organised to raise lots of money for Childline.

£4 answers a childs call for help on Childline

£25 pays for a trained practitioner to deliver 1 hour of support through the NSPCC helpline

£50 pays for an hour of direct one to one support for a vulnerable child and their family

£124 could pay for a night-shift worker so that they can support children who phone Childline, often in desparate situations in the middle of the night

·       ChildLine is the 's free 24-hour helpline for children and young people available 365 days a year, including Christmas Day!

·       Almost 1,400 volunteers provide a counselling service, supervised by a team of professional supervisors and managers

·       Every day our counsellors answer around 2,500 calls from children and young people looking for comfort, advice and protection

·       Children call ChildLine for a variety of reasons, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bulling, serious family tensions, worries about friends’ welfare and teenage pregnancy.

Since it was launched in 1986, ChildLine has counselled over one million children and young people.  It has saved children's lives, found refuges for children in danger on the streets, and given hope to thousands of children who believed no one else cared for them.  ChildLine campaigns on behalf of children by relaying what they tell the charity to policy-makers who can help change children’s lives for the better.  ChildLine also provides an outreach service to schools and youth groups through its CHIPS programme.
