My goddaughter Katherine has Cockayne Syndrome, a rare degenerative disease which affects her growth, eyesight, and hearing.  Katherine really enjoys visiting the hospice and has made many friends there.  Her mum says she is always happy after a care session and does not stop talking about it for days afterwards.  Caring for life-limited children and giving their mums and dads a well-earned break is at the heart of everything that Julia's House does.  Offering frequent, regular respite is, quite simply, a life-saver for families under extraordinary pressure.  I am therefore pleased to have his chance to raise funds to support them.

Charles, Michael, Toby and I are undertaking The Tour du
Mont Blanc in July to raise funds for Julia’s House.  This is a 180km circular walking trail through France, Italy and Switzerland. The route encircles the Mont Blanc Massif and is considered one of the world’s classic long-distance walking trails.

Covering three countries in three days, the route takes us from Courmayeur, through Champex, and Trient, to Tré le Champ.  We will be trekking 7-8 hours per day, with a total of 2360 metres ascent and 2220 metres descent, reaching a maximum altitude of 2,537m at Grand Col Ferret. It’s going to be a great challenge!
