Story

Over the Easter holidays, the S6 council at Dunblane High School are going to be running, cycling and walking 500 miles to fundraise and support the Chris Mitchell Foundation!

The Chris Mitchell Foundation is a charity organisation set up in honour of a former DHS pupil, Chris Mitchell, who was a professional football player. He developed mental health issues, particularly depression and anxiety and sadly, all the support from his family and friends could not deter him from ending his own life on the 7th May 2016, he was only 27.

The charity do fantastic work supporting and raising awareness of mental health and well-being in the Scottish Football industry. To raise awareness, they provide mental health first-aid training to football clubs across the whole of Scotland.

Mental health is important, especially through these difficult times due to the pandemic. For us, doing sport was a great way to raise awareness!
