Story
SDW Centurions :-)
WE DID IT !! The entire 100miles of the South Downs Way leaving ,Winchester at 05:30 arriving at Eastbourne in the dark..
We endured a few ‘unintentional dismounts’, several punctures and a snapped chain and a bum numbing 15hrs + in the saddle.
Marks prized pork pies and quail eggs were reserved for that special energy boost required at Truleigh Hill.
The sight of an ice cream van at 70miles made it too hard to resist temptation and helped spur us on through the dark and gale force winds over the last hills to finish at Eastbourne Pier.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ian, Mark and Ralph are planning to ride the whole 100 miles of the South Downs Way in just one day in aid of Naomi House.
This epic Challenge involves 100miles of off road cycling, climbing a total ascent of 3000meters. This is the equivalent of 50,000 £20 notes stacked on top of each and totals a staggering £530million! The average journey time for such a journey is 3days however we are hoping to achieve this in just one day with a potential of a saddle busting 12+hrs riding time - no mean feat for anyone, so being over 40 doesn't help!
I’m sure you’ll agree all of this is pretty ambitious but our cause is worthy and you don’t know until you try, so please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks,
Ralf, Ian & Mark
