The Royal Signals Charity supports Regular, Retired and Reserve Signallers. We do this by providing benevolence grants to those facing distress or hardship. We support our community through grants that look to encourage comradery, corps history and education of our trades.

78.6 MILES, 3 DAYS, 2 FEET.

I would first of all like to thank you for taking time to visit this page. it means a lot to all of us taking part.

I would appreciate it if you could also take the time to visit the attached link in order to understand just what it is we have volunteerer ourselves for.

http://www.votwo.co.uk/votwo2007/events-and-adventure/race_view.php?v=2&c=1&i=134

Myself and six members of the Quartermasters department of 30 Signal Regiment are taking part in the event, The remainder of the department will be helping us with the Admin for the event as well as keeping up our morale and some have even offered to run a few legs with us (brave or silly? i ask myself this question after every training session). Without these people it would be impossible for us to achieve our aim of completing it. We are hoping to complete three marathons in three days along the coast of Lyme Regis. As you can all immagine this is going to be a very trying event (especially as most of us have never done one entire marathon let alone three) and the terrain does not leave a lot to the immagination (check out the photos).

On this page we will be raising funds for our Corp fund wich is the Royal Signals Benevoulent fund.

"The Royal Signals Association (RSA) was formed in 1920 at the birth of the Corps from the Royal Engineers. The objects of The Association are:

To provide comfort and relief either generally or individually to past and present signallers and their dependants who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

To foster comradeship and morale within the Corps family, serving and retired.

However we will also be raising funds seperately to the 'Mary Ann Evans' hospice which is our local charity. I will keep you updated on our progress with this in the 'blogs'.

many thanks for all your kindness and contributions.

We appreciate anything you are able to give no matter how small.

Yours Gratefully

30 Sig Regt Jurrasic Coast Challenge team.
