Couch to 5K for Sadaka · 9 January 2021

Sadaka is a charity for the homeless and needy based in Reading with an ethos of giving without judgement or bias. Our mission is the prevention and relief of poverty and hardship by providing food, clothing and basic household items to the needy. Through our work, we engender community cohesion.

Story

I have set myself the challenge of running 5K on 21st December to provide Sadaka with the funds to provide support and hot meals to those who need it within Reading. After years of giving up competitive sport completing 5K as fast as I can will certainly be a challenge- but I would love to support this cause with your help! Any donation big or small will make a huge impact.

It is Sadaka's mission to prevent and relieve poverty and financial hardship in Reading by providing food, clothing and basic household items to individuals in need, and by supporting other organisations which work to prevent or relieve poverty in Reading. We are in our third year as a charity and have already seen some individuals get into accommodation and work. Supporting people with complex issues is not easy, but we have wonderful volunteers who come from all walks of life who make our work possible.

It costs £140 to provide hot meals on Sundays and £210 to provide hot meals on Saturdays.
