The cause:

I am raising money to fund the construction of an entire water well that will serve a community, providing them with fresh, clean water. We all know that water is an essential need but as well as being integral to stay hydrated, it is also indispensable to feed livestock and other animals so a regular source of income can be maintained, paving the way for the freedom of self-sufficiency we take for granted. Penny Appeals Dig Deep campaign aims to provide safe, clean drinking water for children, families and the elderly living in Africa.

We are all aware that dirty water causes thousands of deaths - with your help we can save lives from easily preventable waterborne diseases. A community well will also stop children travelling for miles to collect water; giving them the freedom to attend school.

Clean water means healthier lives and improved livelihoods. So today I ask you for two things, firstly, to make a donation, however, large or small and secondly to keep the people who are suffering around the world in your thoughts and prayers.

The challenge:

I have teamed up with Penny Appeal yet again, to take on a challenge that I was told I could never do...run 26.2 miles at the London Marathon! Crossing the finish line after 26.2 miles will be one of my greatest achievements. I loved running the London Marathon so much in 2020 (NOT!) that I am doing it again in 2021....let's hope it is not a virtual affair! 

My motivation:

For those who know, I have had my fair share of ups and downs, well who are we kidding, mainly a roughly time, particularly over the last 18 months (add another 14 months to that now!). I have been extremely fortunate to receive the support that I needed during this time from my family, friends and colleagues. It is important to offer support to others in need and in a less fortunate position than us.
