Story
In 2016 I was assaulted on my way home from a Halloween party, left bleeding and unconscious in the road by a group of 7 people, near the city centre.
I reported it to the police but unfortunately nothing came of that, and I don't know if that was due to no security footage, or if my case just got shuffled down the priority list. I was lucky enough not to have been seriously injured (I now only have a cut on my nose as a result), but it shouldn't have happened and the criminals should have been caught.
I will be running a series of half marathons and other races, building up to a full marathon in early 2020, with proceeds going to CrimeStoppers.
CrimeStoppers Trust is an independent crime-fighting charitable organisation in the United Kingdom, and operates the 0800 555 111 telephone number, allowing people to call anonymously to pass on information about crime.
I hope that by helping to fund this charity that fewer incidents like mine happen, and if they do, the criminals are caught.
I do not identify as a victim, and I certainly don't think of myself as their victim. I want to make the streets safer, with your help, we can.
