Sal's page - running in honor of CHI!

Suffolk County Marathon 2019 · 27 October 2019 ·
I ran my first marathon last year in Philadelphia in honor of CHI because the cause is near and dear to my extended family. It was a grueling experience but well worth it. This year, I am running a marathon again in a few weeks, this time on Long Island. I hope that raising awareness about this terrible disease that can affect small children will help them avoid brain damage and allow them to live life to its fullest!
Please donate to help me raise research funds for new treatments for congenital hyperinsulinism (HI). HI is a life-threatening disorder that causes dangerously low blood sugar levels. Prolonged or severe low blood sugar can cause seizures, brain damage, and even death. New treatments are needed! The funds will be used for an innovative study designed to improve the diagnosis, therapy, or quality of life for those affected by congenital hyperinsulinism.
