Manchester Sleepout · 9 November 2012 ·

Booth Centre is proud to work with UK citizens, refugees, migrants and anyone in need of support to address the impacts of homelessness, poverty and the immigration system. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge of person-centred, trauma-informed working for 30 years.

Story

I'm raising money, along with some other graduates from the Co-operative Bank, by spending a night experiencing the hardships that so many face every night on the streets of the UK

We will be sleeping out on the night of the 9th of November in the centre of Manchester, near the cathedral where the Booth Centre is based. I've seen first hand the work the Booth Centre does and it is truly valuable, enabling so many to rebuild their lives. They provide education, training and advice to help people to find new homes, improve their health, increase their skills and confidence and to successfully resettle in the community. Donations help them to continue and maintain this essential support and advice channel.

I'm really not looking forward to doing this. I hate being cold, I hate camping or sleeping outdoors (as anyone on my school trips aged 12-17 will testify) so raising a lot of money will really be the only motivation for enduring this evening. So please, please, spare what you can and make this ordeal worthwhile!
