EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon 2009 · 11 October 2009 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Birmingham City FC have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust as their nominated charity for the 2009/10 season.

Throughout 2009/10, the club will be raising money for the charity which helps young people fight cancer.

As Birmingham City employees Chris Alcock and I (Sam Nixon) have decided to help support this charity by running the Birmingham Half Marathon and donating any sponsorship money to the Teenage Cancer Trust in which we believe is a hugely important cause.

Teenage Cancer Trust raises money to help develop state of the art facilities at Birmingham’s Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. The new day room for patients will have a comfy sofa, wide screen TV, pool table and juke box. It will be used by teenagers and young people from across the Midlands and parts of Northern England, being diagnosed with and receiving treatment for bone cancers.

All sponsorships will be greatly appreciated.

The club also has its own dedicated sponsorship page.  To visit go to:  http://www.justgiving.com/keep-right-on/
