Back in February 2018 I shattered my C1 vertebrae whilst playing rugby.
At the time this was considered a catastrophic and life changing injury. Fortunately I was mm short of doing more damage that would have left me permanently paralysed or worse.
Recovery was hard and mentally I really struggled but I was lucky to have some great people around me.
Since this my outlook on things has massively changed. I often forget just how different things could have been and just how lucky I was.
I want to prove a point to myself physically and in turn help raise awareness and money for those who have suffered similar injuries but not walked away.
The Matt Hampson Foundation does great work so my aim is to raise as much money as possible so they can continue to support those in need. Please take a minute to read a bit about them.
“Our aim is to provide advice, support, relief and/or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation.
