Project Rio · 2 December 2015

We’re on a mission to transform the lives of young people living in low-income, underserved communities through sport and physical activity. We are committed to growing the reach and impact of our Doorstep Sport approach in more places, with more young people.

Story

Story:

I have been chosen by StreetGames (a national sports charity) to travel to Rio for three weeks during the Olympic Games and teach children in the Favelas of Brazil English and a variety of sports .

I am only 1 of thirteen young people nationally to be selected. I was nominated by Plymouth City Council Sports Unit for my involvement in running StreetGames activities at Hamoaze House, Plymouth.

I will be visiting the deprived areas in Rio and helping young people who are exposed to drugs, crime and violence. We are aiming to give them something positive in their lives like this amazing sporting event which will be held in the heart of the city, it will be amazing to see the difference in culture and share experiences with people in a different parts of the world. Hopefully you can help bring the Olympic legacy to those from poorer communities. I am extremely passionate about working with these groups of people.

In order to get me on the plane i need to achieve £2000. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
