I'll be racing in an ocean row boat, from Ibiza to Barcelona this July, 2023. I will be part of a team of amateur ocean rowers racing against other boats in the Mediterranean over a distance of 200 nautical miles.

Im spending several months training and need to invest in and complete various VHF radio, navigation, first aid and sea-survival courses.

The race itself will be a test of mental and physical
endurance. A relentless schedule, 2 hours on, 2hours off, non stop for 4 days on the open ocean, practically no sleep, blisters, sea sickness and a confined cabin space, and all the associated difficulties your imagination can conjure (including pooping in a bucket)

WHY? I hear you ask?

No doubt you will have felt the touch of cancer, it's various guises, and often devastating impact. The older we get, the more aware we become, and the more reasons we have to support efforts to get rid once and for all. 

Too many friends and family have been lost too young, too soon or who have been severely impacted.

One of the lesser known causes of cancer is HPV, and it's role in causing over 5% of cancers. Ill be racing with NOMAN who raise awareness about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) related cancer epidemic in men and women, and campaigns for universal HPV vaccination, while challenging participants (that's me!) to extreme endurance races across the world! 

So - Help me raise a good old wedge for a great cause, and a simple solution to save lives. 

Whats the simple solution...? The vast majority of people remain unaware of the link to HPV outside of cervical cancer. We can prevent HPV cancers simply by vaccinating both boys and girls against HPV. The HPV-vaccine is a cancer preventing vaccine, and presents the greatest opportunity we've had to prevent cancer in decades. Over 40 countries now protect both boys and girls against HPV.
