Mikron Theatre Company is in my blood. It was founded the year I was born by my parents, Mike & Sarah, and I grew up with Mikron and the canals. This small, but perfectly formed, professional touring company has over the last 40 years managed to produce dynamic, original and entertaining theatre covering a whole range of themes and issues, and by touring during the summer by canal on the narrowboat 'Tyseley' take these plays to places and venues where theatre would otherwise never usually be seen. The company is still thriving but struggles every year to keep going due to a lack proper funding. For example Mikron receives no regular Arts Council grant. Any money we can raise through the 'Boatathon' will really help fund next year's shows and tour. Let's help preserve Mikron and the ideals it stands for so it can continue to entertain and inform for many more years to come.
