Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I'm donning my running shoes for Kidney Research UK and taking on my first half marathon, which just happens to be the world's largest... The Great North Run.
PKD (Polycycstic Kidney Disease) is a range of life-threatening inherited disorders that cause kidney failure, damage to other organs and sometimes result in premature death in children and adults.
PKD is a genetic disorder in which abnormal fluid-filled cysts develop and grow in the kidneys. In the UK there are about 70,000 adults and children suffering with PKD.
I am raising money for Kidney Research UK as I have PKD. It is not a visible disorder and on the outside all is 'normal'. Those that know me, will have no idea I have PKD as I do not feel it is something I need to shout about, but the effects it has had on my family means I am now doing what I can to help raise awareness and funds for research in attempt of one day finding a cure.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Kidney Research UK. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Even a pound would make a huge difference, I am excited to run my first half marathon for Kidney Research UK and look forward to fundraising as much as possible in the future for this charity.
