Deep River Rock Belfast Marathon Relay · 6 May 2013 ·

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Hey!

Thanks for checking in on my page. Let me tell you briefly why I have organised this event & why it means a lot to me.

Just over two years ago, I became very ill, and after different tests I was diagonosed with Crohn's disease. Following this I was put on steriods & different medications were tried, but failed.Over the course of 6 months I went from always being out & about to being unable to eat and was resigned to my bed with very little energy.

Thankfully I was then put on medication which worked for me and kept my illness under control & has now allowed me a normal life again for which I am thankful everyday.

Now two years on, I have had the idea off getting my close friends & family who supported me through all the rough times to compete in a relay at the 2013 Belfast Marathon in May which for me is a massive personnal achievement.

The Crohns & Colitis UK charity do a great work for people living with the diseases and their families. I just want to try and fundraise for them and give a little back for the charity and people dealing with their illnesses.

If you can donate to the charity, I would be very grateful and thank you very much in advance.

Sam.
