We believe all children should be safe in their home, and out about. They should be confident in school. They should have lots of fun. We help facilitate that. We provide everyday essentials to families who need them by distributing school uniforms, new baby essentials, travel items, toiletries, safety equipment, furniture, toys and books.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the London Marathon for First Days Charity who are trying to beat childhood poverty, they support children from birth right through secondary school and beyond.  No child (or their parents) should be worried about going to school without the equipment they need or on an empty tummy.  I have seen throughout my teaching career the effects of poverty on children and sadly this pandemic has increased these massively.  I want to be able to help this charity to make a difference to the lives of those who need it.

At First Days we believe all children deserve the same start in life.

We reduce the long term effect of poverty on children by equipping them with the essential items they need for their early years and at school

4 million children in the UK are living in households whose income falls below the poverty line. This means that, after they've paid for their housing and utilities, they have just £19 per day to live on - for food, clothes, transport, birthdays and every thing else they might need. At First Days we help families at a time of crisis - when they need something for their children and simply cannot afford it.
