UPDATE (1/3/11): I'm afraid my hamstring is still giving me a lot of grief, so I'm not sure when I'll be running again yet. The NHS wait for a physio is 14 weeks.. so will keep you updated! I am determined to do it at some point, have signed up for the Royal Parks in September but hopefully will be able to do something before then! Sofa Sam xxxx

UPDATE (28/1/11): Unfortunately I've pulled my hamstring.. was hoping it'd be ok but seeing as it still hurts to sit/walk and there are only 2 days to go.. so I think I better admit it's not going to happen :( SO.. I'm going to postpone for a month or 2.. probably either the Colchester or Eton half marathon in March. Watch this space!
Thanks to everyone for sponsoring me!

Ok so it's not a marathon like most of you guys out there.. but I am a) still rather scared and b) hoping to take the opportunity to pester you for money for the after school club I volunteer with!
The Klevis Kola Foundation (KKF) is the partner organisation of StAR, that runs the after-school club I help out with on Tuesdays. I've pasted the blurb below but basically it's a fantastic organisation that has a massive impact on both the families involved and the wider community as a whole. The Tuesday club works with refugees kids in the Tooting/ Balham/ Mitcham area, providing a space outside of school and home to both help intergrate into the community, and just have some fun! StAR and KKF do loads of other good stuff too - you can find out more here: www.kleviskola.org.
The money will go towards a variety of things, from equipment for arts and crafts to the mini bus for the summer camping trip.
f you want to know more just ask and I'll probably end up rambling on for a while! :)
The Klevis Kola Foundation is a community organisation with members from all over London. Klevis Kola supports refugee and asylum-seeking families and helps them to play their full part in the community.
Arriving as a refugee in the UK can be a terrifying and disempowering experience. Difficulties with language, accessing services and overcoming prejudice are ever-present.
Klevis Kola exists to help refugees overcome those challenges, and to help them rebuild their lives at the centre of the community. Klevis Kola works closely with a number of organisations in south London to deliver services for refugees and asylum seekers. Projects include after-school clubs, trips and holidays, summer schools, advocacy work, and a football club. Our main partners are Student Action for Refugees, at St George’s, University of London.
