Story

As some of you may well know, we are attempting to complete the Devizes to Westminster canoe race. The race is a 125 mile endurance event which will last a total of four days of paddling which begins on the 22nd of April. This makes it the longest canoe race of it's kind in the world and the toughest endurance challenge available to schools. We will be camping every night for the duration of the event. Since September we have been training three times a week on the Kennet and Avon Canal and on the Thames. Between the 27th of February and 10th of April, we will be competing in four qualifying races of up to 34 miles in length.

We have chosen 'Hope and Homes for Children' as the charity we will be representing. For those of you who don't know, Hope and Homes is a charity that works across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa to provide children with the opportunity to have a caring family and a chance to have a positive future. An example of some of the work the charity has been doing is in Sudan where the charity has been working in the State of Khartoum since 1998 developing the country's foster care programme for children without homes or families.

We hope you support us in this feat of mental and physical endurance by donating to our very deserving charity, "Hope and Homes for Children". Any donations for our charity will be greatly appreciated and will give us the necessary motivation to complete the event.

Thank you.
