Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running the London Marathon in 2012 for a great charity Baby Lifeline who help in the purchasing and prioritising of maternity equipment from small items such as baby thermometers to life saving equipment like incubators, and are also active in the training of professionals in the care of pregnant women and babies.
In 2009 my younger sister Jacqui gave birth to my nephew Alex 25 weeks into her pregnancy. Alex was born on 30th March 2009 at Luton and Dunstable Hospital weighing just 1lb 13oz. Luton have an excellent NICU which could cater for such a premature baby. Alex stayed there for 2 and a half months before being transferred back to Peterborough District Hospital. The medical staff at Luton and Peterborough were amazing, as well as caring so brilliantly for Alex they were a great support to my sister and her partner too. Alex is now a gorgeous, happy two year old who has no problems at all.
We as a family know how lucky we are to have such a successful outcome and it is all thanks to the amazing medical staff and equipment that was available to Alex. I would love the opportunity to run for Baby Lifeline and to raise money to help other mothers and babies to have access to the same amazing medical staff and vital equipment that Jacqui and Alex had access to.
Any amount you can donate for this amazing cause will be greatly appreciated.
