Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising money for The Royal Marsden in loving memory of Valerie Barratt, my wonderful Mum. She was diagnosed with Oesophagus Cancer in September 2010 and was treated at The Royal Marsden in Sutton. My Mum remained positive throughout her treatment, she was in her words " too busy to die. " Devastatingly eight months later, after walking round the garden and doing some ironing Mum sat down on the sofa and died peacefully at home. She was a fantastic Nan to Ian, Mark and Molly and was always very involved in their life. Molly was only 11 months old when mum died, but the boys will always have loads of stories to tell of their nan, keeping her memory alive. Mum was a very loving wife and enjoyed a busy and fun social life with my dad. Anyone who knew my mum always says what a kind, generous person she was. It is an honour to do this Dryathlon in her memory.
