Story
In 2002 I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It later transpired that I also had a second lymphoma. After a first round of strong chemotherapy the aggressive lymphoma went into remission but the other one didn't. For five years I delayed further western treatments whilst using eastern supplementary medicines and meditation waiting for western science to 'catch up' allowing me better chances of survival. Fortunately this worked and in 2009 I underwent an auto-immune stem cell transplant. However, after I was told I was in remission I could no longer cope with the mental strain that I had been under for all those years and suffered Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome followed by a 'partial' breakdown. It was a long journey to wellness but here I am celebrating life and asking you to help others who suffer silently the mental strain of this disease and don't necessarily know how to ask for help. I believe Maggie's is such a place where they can find a life-line.
