When You Wish Upon a Star are a charity whose aim is to grant the Wishes of children between the ages of 4 to 16 years old living with life threatening illnesses. Whatever the Wish, wherever possible, we will aim to make that Wish come true. Please help us grant these magical Wishes

Story

Ever since I turned 21, I've wanted to do something "special" for my next 'milestone' birthday. Something I'd remember for a long time.

In 2012, I got the crazy idea to do a skydive. Considering I'm terrified of heights (I don't even like normal flights!), this decision shocked me more than it shocked the people I know! Everyone laughed and thought I was joking when I first mentioned it!
But I was determined to do it. I shared this plan with one of my best friends and we both decided to do it in 2015 (she can no longer do it, though). At the time, 2015 felt a comfortable few years away and I thought I'd be fully ready to do it by the time I turn 25.

Now, the skydive is only a few weeks away, and I'm definitely still scared about doing it... But also strangely excited!

So on Friday 7th of August, I'll be jumping (pushed) out of a plane 10,000 up the ground. Just writing this feels unnaturally scary! Haha! But when I decide to do something, as crazy as it may be, it's almost impossible to convince me otherwise.

However, because I'm genuinely quite worried about the 'jump' and know I'll spend the last few nights before it sleep-less... I'm hoping to raise some money to do it. As then I'd have something to motivate me.

It took a while to decide on a charity, but I'll be raising money for "When You Wish Upon A Star".

I grew up as probably one of the happiest kids around. I had a loving family, great friends, exciting opportunities and most importantly my health. I was lucky.
It saddens me that so many children are deprived of the most basic thing in their lives, something we all take for granted - their health. This charity gives seriously ill children the chance to live their biggest 'Wish'. For someone so young who has spent most of their life in a hospital, something as simple as a trip to a fun theme park could make them so happy and take them away from their daily pain and struggles for a while! And I'm sure it means a lot to their parents as well, to see their child truly happy, as they deserve to be.

The charity means a lot to me and I'd be grateful for any donations... Big or small!
I know that once I'm up there, what will essentially give me the courage to go for it and jump, is knowing that so many people believed in me enough to sponsor me.

Thank you for reading this rather long essay! Any support is appreciated.
