Samiya's Orphans in Need

Orphans in Need · 23 July 2014
My name is Samiya Javed. I am a student from India and I feel none of us are as helpless as we think we are.
I wish I had enough riches to be able to solve all poverty-related problems of the world.
Sadly, I don't.
I hope to someday have enough to be able to sponsor a family/orphan on my own but till then, this is my attempt at making things better for the less privileged.
With that in mind, I have decided to raise money to feed 1 family for a year. With your support, I will be able to fulfill my aim to raise enough to purchase 12 food parcels from Orphans in Need who will distribute essential food and sanitation supplies to a destitute family of a widow and her children.
Orphans in Need is a charity which aims to help some of the world’s most vulnerable and needy people. Alongside Orphan Sponsorship, another one of their projects is Monthly Food Parcels. These food parcels are given to orphans and widows affected by poverty.
A 51 DOLLAR (3,065 INDIAN RUPEES) donation pays for a family of 5 to be fed for a whole month. The parcels contain: rice, flour, oil, lentils/pulses, spices, tea, sugar, vegetables and soap as well as sanitation products. They are distributed to poor families living in Palestine, India, Kashmir, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Afghanistan, Gambia and Malawi.
THE TOTAL AMOUNT I AM LOOKING TO RAISE IS 614.26 DOLLARS, i.e. 36,920 RUPEES THAT WOULD FEED A FAMILY FOR ONE WHOLE YEAR.
PLEASE MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY AND DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN!
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
