I am Sammy Novick and have lived with Type 1 Diabetes since I was first diagnosed aged 5.  My pancreas is incapable of producing the natural insulin that my body needs to function so I am dependant on injections and regular monitoring of my blood sugar levels. Without careful management Diabetes can lead to many complications and with over 400,000 Type 1 Diabetics in the UK alone it is a growing disease with no known cure.

JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until we find the cure. They fund research to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes.
