We empower people to save the natural world

Story

I will just start by saying thank you to anyone who is already at the stage of viewing my profile. Many thanks in advance!

I am representing an international charity called Earthwatch http://www.earthwatch.org because I've been fortunate enough to have gained a place on one of the World Challenges they are organising for 10/07/2011 to Samburu, Kenya, whereby we must help to conserve a number of the wildlife and assist the struggling natives out there.

To say a small bit about myself, I am a seventeen year old, who was fortunate enough to have been chosen, by entering a national application process for young people, for this World Challenge. I had to show that I had a passion for helping this world, and the communities within it. Fortunately, I was given this opportunity but need to raise approximately £800 minimum to help aid the charity and I propose to raise £500 hopefully through JustGiving to help fund some of the work we aim to do out there. For example, we shall be working with a native tribe, assisting them within their settlements as they have come under extreme strain recently due to world changes etc. as well as visiting a local school out in Kenya to help with the work there.

I want to represent the younger generation, to prove that young people can have a positive impact on our world, and can make the difference. So for this to happen, I am trying to raise the sufficient funds needed to make this difference to less fortunate people in the world, who need the help of those who can help.
