Dear all,
Thankyou very much for taking a moment to drop by to our just giving page. Let me tell you a little of the back story to our event:
Four months ago my younger brother, Rob, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Those of you that know him will know what an athletic, fit young man he is, so of course this came as a complete shock to him, myself and my family.
Through his treatment Rob has been relentlessly focused and determined to make a full recovery and get back to normality as soon as possible. He will have completely missed out on the last six months, so is desperate to catch up for lost time as soon as possible.
This fund raising event has come about because a student of mine, Louis Thew, approached me saying he wanted to do something to help. Having been particularly affected by Rob's story he wanted to do something memorable to help encourage people to dig deep and give generously to his extremely worthwhile charity of choice of choice; Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Louis's willingness to do something so selfless obviously left me no option other than to accept his challenge.
So, on Saturday 29th October, Louis and I will be cycling nearly 60 miles, from school in Colchester, to Manningtree, Ipswich, Hadleigh, Sudbury and back to Colchester. We will be joined on our journey by fellow staff members at St Helena Dale Benham, Kelly DuRand and Martyn Jordan, and a friend Scott McKillop.
Please support us in whatever way you can, and if you are in the area come and say hello at one of our stops on route!
Thankyou for all your support in advance.
Sam
