Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

I had very little knowledge of anything at all about Guatemala but since meeting Rosanne, her passionate involvement with Education for the Children (EFTC) has started to rub off on me.

EFTC is a charity providing education, food, healthcare and social services support to 650 children in Guatemala, one of the poorest countries in Latin America. The poverty that some of these children live in is heartbreaking and really puts things in perspective when I think I'm having a bad day.

This year I've started sponsoring a five year old boy, Abner, who's just started kindergarten after suffering with epilepsy as a baby. He likes football (snap!) and the colour red (double snap!) but sadly I've yet to convert him to Manchester United.

The challenge?  Considering we only bought our bikes this year I think our "training" is going pretty well - even the lycra hasn't stopped me! Then again, perhaps my confidence is hugely misplaced - in which case you'll be fully entitled to point and laugh loudly when you see me hobbling around bow-legged for a month, unable to sit down without wincing.

I'd be so grateful if you could help support my fundraising. The charity is very small so you can rest assured that any contribution you might be able to give really will make a difference.

Thank you very much!
