Story
It has taken some time for me to organise my next big challenge but I have finally decided on what it is. In June next year I will be cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats in order to raise money for LOROS which is a hospice charity based in my hometown of Leicester.
My reasoning for choosing to raise money for LOROS is during my Grandfathers battle with Cancer, LOROS provided excellent care and support to both him and my Grandma and I wish to help them continue to offer this level of support to other people.
For those who aren’t aware of the challenge I am undertaking, in the space of 12-13 days I will be cycling approx.1000 mile as I travel from the most southern to the most northern point of the United Kingdom. This is no mean feat and will mean at least six-nine months of intense training beforehand.
Due to the type of challenge I am undertaking, the charity will be helping to partly fund the event and this is the reasoning why I have to raise a minimum £2,800. Although the charity will be helping to partly fund the event, money will still be raised for the charity for which they would not have received and this challenge is definitely not a walk in the park and will mean months of intense training and fundraising. Once this target has been reached, any donations beyond this figure will go 100% to LOROS.
In order to aid my fundraising efforts, I have set myself forfeits which are: once the fundraising target has reached £1,500 I will get my legs waxed (from experience with Kinesiology tape this will not be pleasant!) and once the donations reach the milestone of £2,800 I will allow the person who donated the most to choose a superhero costume I have to wear on one of my days during the challenge. Evidence will obviously be provided through the Just Giving page.
Any money you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated and I know it will be going to a great cause.
Thank you for your support!
