Story

Sandford Syclepaths are a group of fine(ish) athletes who formed a Facebook group page to share and suggest routes, to allow others to know each others plans and to arrange regular outings. All budding cyclists are invited and from humble beginnings their group now has 106 members.

We have entered 2 teams of 6 who are:

  • Mike Edworthy
  • Paul Burrow
  • Simon Fowler
  • Paul Miller
  • Mark Bowen
  • Alan Smith
  • Steve Head
  • Andrew Haydon
  • Phil Stamp
  • Andy Snell
  • Ethan Snell
  • Chris O'Connor

With at least 12 Syclepaths participating we are delighted to support Owen Messenger and his magnificent team from DCP in their support of Bowel Cancer West. This is their story...

"Kelly Stabb has always considered herself to be relatively fit and healthy but in 2017 she was given the devastating news that she had advanced stage four bowel cancer. Kelly underwent emergency surgery and chemotherapy and her treatment will continue into 2018.

She has an overwhelming feeling to give something back to those who are researching and developing the cancer treatment that is saving her life. As such she has set herself the goal of raising £10,000 for the charity Bowel Cancer West.

To raise money Kelly intends to run the Edinburgh marathon with her husband on the same day as the ride and is organising a charity ball and other fundraising events.

Bowel Cancer West have been an incredible support to Kelly and we want to raise as much money as possible in order to help them support Kelly and others."
