Royal Parks Half Marathon 2011 · 9 October 2011 ·

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.  At the age of 55, I have decided that now is the time to start tackling my ‘Things To Do Before I Die List’!  So here I am writing my JustGiving page for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, that I’m running on October 9 for the charity Refuge.

Refuge has been helping woman and children escape domestic violence for 40 years.  The charity desperately needs support to survive and to grow so that it can continue its provision of vital services including safe, emergency accommodation, individual/group counselling and community based outreach services.

I am killing two birds with one stone here!  No only am I running for a very worthwhile cause, but my middle age spread is starting to disappear due to all the training sessions.

My target is to raise £400 for Refuge, so any donations, big or small, will be very welcome.  Show me your dosh and donate now!

Many thanks.  Sandra xxxxxx
