Story
Being diagnosed with breast cancer is hard at any age but especially in your 30's. For me it was the most traumatic event in my life, I thought I was going to die and could not comprehend how it could happen to me at my age. The hospital team dealt with the cancer but the support needed to cope with the emotional damage attached to this illness came from the charity Breast Cancer Care. They are the only charity who have specialist support for young women with breast cancer in the UK. They gave me support, advice specific to being a younger woman and introduced me to other young women in my position through their 'Younger Womens Forum'.
I am raising money to help Breast Cancer Care continue to provide this vital support to other young women like me diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year I ran 5 km which was a real challenge, this year I am cycling from London to Brighton (100 km !!!) starting at 11pm in Stratford on Fri 12th July and hopefully coming into Brighton race course 8 hrs or so later the next morning. Towards the end of the route I will have to conquer the infamous hill of Ditchling Beacon, climbing to one of the highest points in the South Downs. For those of you that live in London I would love for you to see me off at the start and those in Sussex can meet me for breakfast in Brighton.
