We use football and Greenock Morton to engage people and impact lives

Story

Team Talk is a platform that allows men from all walks of life to be able to sit down and talk, without stigma, without the worry of what anyone else thinks about them, to get whatever they want to say in their minds, out of their system, but there are hundreds, thousands of men who are still afraid to come forward for fear of that very stigma. We at St Francis FC will not accept that, we use our latest strip to raise the profile of Team Talk by proudly having the name across our shirts, in the hope that just one person, asks what it is, asks how to get in contact, and hopefully, asks for the help that you may not know they needed. I have had personal experience of young men , seemingly happy and content, struggle to open up to their friends, family and work colleagues about whats troubling them. So with the help of a few friends, we are going to use the month of June to run as far as we can.

Firstly to raise the profile of what Team Talk can do for people, and secondly to raise some money for the Morton Community Trust so that they can offer more services, to more people throughout Inverclyde and beyond. It's a troubling time for a lot of people, and we need these services to keep going way beyond this current climate we find ourselves in. We hope you find them to like, share and if you can, donate a small amount to the amazing team at Morton Community Trust.

Lastly, to mention those taking part in the event, they come from all different backgrounds, with very different jobs, but all share the love of football and are keen to make a difference to their community. The St Francis Team Talk Runners are;

Mr David Charles

Mr Stewart Ballantyne

Mr Jonny Roy

Mr Ryan Cannon

Mr Peter Cleisham

Mr Andrew Mitchell
