I am taking part in the Grim Challenge on the 4^th of December. The event is an 8 mile run on land used to test army vehicles and includes varied terrain, wading through water filled ravines and crawling under camouflage netting.  

My inspiration behind taking part in the Grim Challenge is to help raise money for a global charity - Chinmaya Mission. If you don't know of the charity, I can tell you thousands of people benefit from its activities. For example, the charity inspires many people to participate in social activities which the organisation undertakes globally - including working to improve schools, hospitals and working on rural village development projects. Both children and adults participate in the organisation's activities and benefit from the spiritual courses provided.

As many of you are aware my sister, Shalena, passed away in May of this year. Her passing has left a void in not only my life but that of my family. During this time we have relied heavily on the guidance and encouragement that the Chinmaya Mission and in particular Bramacharini Nishita Ji has provided.

I will be running in memory of Shalena and using the Grim Challenge as a way of giving back to the Mission.
