Story

Hello generous people with good hearts! I thought i'd bump into you here... :)!

So. In July 2010, I am embarking on a month long trip to Africa, in an attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and give to those well in need. Im currently fundraising for the trip, which I am doing for the charity World Vision - a relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

I know around 85% of the visitors of this page will leave laughing their behinds off at the idea of me climbing Mount Killi - but seriously guys, its not like its one of the biggest mountain in the world or anything!!?! Chill, I got this. Plus, i've been (theoretically) climbing mountains for years! Seriously though, however hard I find it, I will be putting my all into the climb because i'd love nothing better than to reach the top and do the tribal skank (or some other type of dance form showing my sheer elation)

So what AM I doing exactly? Aside from chillin on 'Manjaro, i'll be spending  two weeks in Tanzania immersed in community development, primarily concentrating on enriching the life of local children. With money I hope to raise offline, I will purchase educational and sports equipment for the children I will be visiting during my time there. Moreover, I will endeavor to donate a certain proportion to the Selian Lutheran Hospital and the Coptic Medical Center.

I WILL be making a video diary, along with other members of the trip, which i'm sure your all looking forward to watch! We hope to send the diary to senior members of Warwick University (in an attempt to generate more interest for such trips) and there WILL be a dedication to each and every single donor! So get your moneys out pronto!

Just remember - sence and simple economics tells us that £10 is of a lot higher value to a child in Africa than it is to any of us in the United Kingdom. We are fortunate to have lives littered with convenience, comfort and luxuries - others aren't.

Give a little.

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)
