Hi all,

In a few weeks time, on Sunday 23 October 2016, I will be running The Great South Run.  This is a 10mile run (equivalent to 16km) around the Southsea and Portsmouth area.

I’m running for the Estelle Trust, a charity that supports orphans and vulnerable children, particularly in Zambia. They aim to improve the standard of education for children, ensuring access to a safe learning environment, suitable sanitation facilities, a feeding programme and high quality learner-centred tuition. I’m running with Rudolph Spurling and Andrew Sparey.  Estelle was Rudolph's late grandmother, hence why I am running for the trust. It’s a great cause and if you want any more information about what the trust does then they have a website at http://www.estelletrust.org.

In terms of the run itself, this will be the longest distance I have ran in a race to date and so you can rest assured that your money will be getting you a lot of my blood, sweat and tears.  I only started running in October of last year.  I couldn’t run for more than 10 minutes at the beginning, but ran my first 10km in June this year and have been working towards this run since.  This is going to be a real challenge and all support will be much appreciated!
