Folks... hola!!

So after maanny years of wanting to do something like this - it's happening!!  I'm off with VSO in June for 4 months to help lead a team of young people (UK/Nepalese volunteers) doing education projects in marginalized rural communities in Nepal (Karvepalanchock). The programme hopes to improve the quality of learning for children marginalized from the education system – especially vulnerable girls, children with disabilities and Dalit children (caste system). We will also be working on gender equality issues and wider community concerns, such as, those connected to the 2015 earthquake.  You can find out more by visiting the below link...

The work and living conditions will be challenging but I'm really looking forward to this amazing lifetime opportunity, the chance to grow, learn and hopefully make a positive impact in the lives of those we meet... but yes - I'm also a wee bit daunted by the challenge - co-leading/ supporting a team and fundraising!

The money raised will go directly towards work on the ground of the ICS/ VSO programmes that support and help establish long-term solutions for impoverished marginalised communities.
