Having cycled on my own last year around all 16 churches in our benefice in the pouring rain, I have decided on different tactics for this year.  First, I will not be doing this on my own and secondly, I will make sure that I have supper ready on my return and I will also arrange  that the dog is walked before I finish so that I don't have to do that as well.  

Marilyn, my friend and neighbour and also church secretary is mad enough to decide to join me on this expedition.

The maintenance of our village church needs funds to tackle the major damp problem in the south transept.  We have removed the pews and undertaken some remedial work but there is a larger underlying problem that needs substantial drainage works.

It is a beautiful building and, along with the village hall, is an important meeting place for villagers of all ages.
