The SAA rescues and rehomes many cats and rabbits yearly. Unfortunately, with ever-increasing vet bills and lots of poorly and senior cats in our care, we are incurring large vet bills daily. If you would like to help, please consider donating.

Story

The first thing people learn about me is that I love animals, they bring joy into my life and make me smile. I recently visited the SAA (Society for Abandoned Animals) in Sale to find out how I could volunteer for dog walking, to my surprise they were unable to house dogs anymore due the condition of the buildings. I found this devastating and when looking around I noticed more buildings were needing attention also. On top of that they are struggling with vet bills.

My first step was to sponsor a pen which you can do for £4.00 a month through their website. Whatever animal stays in that pen the SAA will update you on how they are doing and when they have been rehomed.

My next step was to take on a challenge to help fund raise in support of the costs for the charity. As I have a few injuries from previous 10K runs, I looked at what other fund raising activities would challenge me. My favourite things in life are animals, wine and chocolate! So there it is, why not give up my two favourite things and Go Sober and Choco free for October.

I am known as a full blown chocoholic and do not go a day without it, my other indulgence in life is wine. Although giving up both of these luxuries will be a huge test on my relationship! I will apologise now Gareth :-) if I can raise some money to help the SAA and home more animals it will be well worth it.

Please help and donate, every penny can help the SAA save more animals.

Established in the 1960s, the SAA takes in unwanted and abandoned cats and rabbits. All the animals are micro-chipped, neutered and vaccinated, and the SAA never puts a healthy animal down. The animals are given food, shelter and veterinary care, until loving new homes are found.
