Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Between 22 February and 22 May 2016 I'm going to be swimming 22 miles - the equivalent of swimming The Channel - at The London Aquatic Centre to raise funds for Diabetes UK.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 18 months. My mother had to inject me using glass syringes and we had one of the first blood testing machines that was the size of a shoebox. I did my first injection on my fourth birthday. Things have changed a lot since then - I now use an insulin pump which talks to my blood testing machine via Bluetooth. I'm now mum to two beautiful girls and I want to make sure that their children don't have to suffer from this hereditary disease.
