Hello! Thanks so much for clicking on this link. I am both nervous and excited to be running the London marathon for the second time, this time round for the Red Cross! 

After what feels like four years of hardcore baby rearing, I’m poking my head out the other side to see if I’ve still got what it takes to stumble round a marathon. 

11 years ago I managed to run London in 3 hours 45 minutes. I would LOVE to smash my previous record, however getting round will be an achievement in itself what with the extra wrinkles and grey hairs I carry these days!

As you know I work with the International Committee of the Red Cross and we are both close partners of and co-habit with the British Red Cross in London. I’ve always admired the work of the BRC, from support to victims of Grenfell, reuniting migrants with family members, providing support to refugees and asylum seekers, wheelchair loans, campaigning for better understanding of first aid, social care for the elderly, to the invaluable work they do with ICRC and national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies overseas, they blinkin rock.

So it’s a good cause...

Oh and this year at London it’s a husband/wife affair as Simon is running too for Sports Relief! So we somehow have to juggle two lots of marathon training with childcare! No mean feat! See his page here...
